This is how I document my punctuality
Here I am with Miss Freckles. She's my only friend. You can see Miss Nose sneaking up behind me trying to bite my ass (literally) I'm not sure this picture shows how enormous these pigs are.
This is Mr. Fluffyface and some sheep 'tocks rudeness on display.
If you do not give Miss Freckles the marshmallows she requires, she becomes COMPLETELY DERANGED!!
don't let the big liquidy eyes fool you, this is a boy sheep. Tranny sheep.

so Protect Marriage dot com, the head asshole in charge of the Yes on Prop 8 (anti-same sex marriage, for a ban) campaign is now sending threatening letters to companies that have donated money to No on 8 (pro-same sex marriage, against a ban). Apparently, they are giving these companies a window of time to either give them money or have their name published on a list of people who "oppose traditional marriage"

Everything has been OMG DRAMA at work. There is a brand new surgical team doing cardiovascular studies and are not following any of the rules. I'm the rule nazi at work. I hate having to be such a square. My boss asked these people why they weren't using the shields on the floor while using our C-arm. Their response? "oh don't worry we're all wearing lead" (meaning those lead aprons you put on over your clothes during imaging)
You know who isn't wearing lead at any given time? ME! ME ME ME ME! Who's office is adjacent to the animal OR. You guys would be so sad if I get radiation sickness and can't write this blog anymore.
So while I figure out just how long I have left, here are some things I've found worthy of starring on google reader:

We're speeding towards the November election at a terrifying velocity. For the rest of the country, the it's a simple race between Obama and McCain. But those of us here in California, its turned into a SHIT STORM of PROP 8 HYSTERIA. I've put all of my emotional eggs into the fragile basket of No on 8.
So many blog comments say, "why so much local coverage about Prop 8 when there are real problems happening. The presidential election, the economy, Lindsay Loahn..." but prop 8 is a REALLY HUGE SERIOUS FUCKING DEAL. Don't you get that? It's SUCH. A. BIG. DEAL. and this reverse psychology challenge to the liberals to play it cool will not work.
I had myself worked into tears the other day at work reading the comments on this article. It's so frustrating, and I'm very scared. Very very scared. The second we write something INTO OUR CONSTITUTION that give Adult citizens X and Y different rights from Adult citizens A and B, it's all over.
Prop 8 is the most clear cut issue with a right side and a wrong side I've ever seen. I mean why is this so difficult? why? WHY? Any two adult citizens without any criminal infraction that would have stripped away rights as punishement should be INDISTINGUISHABLE in the eyes of the government. Either marriage is dangerous or it isn't. Everyone can do it or no one can.
We have to be SO CAREFUL where we hand out the hard no's. I need OVERWHELMING evidence for something to be accepted as fact. Why should we treat the criteria or state laws differently than criteria for scientific law.
For example. The obvious laws. You can't punch me in the face. That's assault. It will hurt me. I know that it will hurt me even though you haven't done it yet. I know this because there is OVERWHELMING evidence from what we know about the body and our own experiences to know that IT WILL HURT.
How about something that doesn't physically hurt? How do we prove that it should be illegal? For example, you can't sexually molest a child, nonviolently. No physical pain is experienced and sometimes the child doesn't remember. I just searched pubmed and there are over 20 thousand psychological studies linking childhood sexual abuse to mental illness as an adult. That was only using one set of search terms. I find hundreds of thosuands of others using other related terms.
Okay so how about the impact of homosexual relationships on society, on children, on the institution of marriage. I've seen PLENTY of studies linked and somehow the source is always a website like Focus on the Family...American Family Association...something with the word "family" in it. We all know that anytime an organization has the word "family" in it it's interchangable with "Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior"
There are secular studies. Many in fact. And the results make up the entire spectrum. Some think there is no harm to the precious children. Others think that children MUST have a mother and a father to thrive. The fact that such a range exists at all leaves the scientist in me unimpressed. How can we support changing our constitution, the GENOME, the control center of our government, to include a block on gay marriage with the shittiest weakest evidence I've ever seen?
The sole point of marriage is to have children biologically. Wait...that doesn't sound right...I remember meeting married heterosexual couples in my life that never had kids. At least I THOUGHT I had met couples like that. I also vaguely remember hearing about married couples who are infertile. Maybe I dreamt that after taking an ambien or something.
In all seriousness, can we please just call a spade a spade? Anyone who would vote yes on Prop 8 does so because they don't want something that they have (marriage) to be attainable by people they consider gross depraved perverts. They think its so gross and perverted they don't want their children to be taught that mom and dad have the same contractual agreement as the freaks next door. "oh no Little Susy, we're nothing like them...we're normal...the queers have their little civil unions and we have blissful glorious marriage"
The thing about "seperate but equal" is it STARTS OUT each group gets the same steak but over time you realize that one group is getting filet minon and the other is getting the tough chewy cuts. Some animals are more equal than others.
And is this about sexual depravaty and how it will affect the children? I want to know what kind of sex these Yes on 8 people have. Is this about putting things where they don't belong? Does this boil down the Yon8 folks not wanting people to put something in an "out hole"?
If this is the case then I am personally available to be on right wing sex watch. Am I to believe that the Yon8 crowd with their snowy white values and tough moral fiber are not engaging in any sort of sodomy? Do conservative christian wives, after the children have said their bedtime prayers, never give their husbands blow jobs? How about anal sex? Personally I think if a couple has been married and faithful for many years and they've never even ENTERTAINED or talked about the idea of anal sex in the dark private secret world of the bedroom, something is wrong with their sex life. If Prop 8 passes I am buying fog horns and camping outside of bedroom windows. The second I see these right wing perverts even THINK about engaging in oral sodomy I am going to shut it down IMMEDIATELY. I don't want them pushing their christian married cock gobbling agenda on my children. No siree.
What about episcopalians? united church of christ? unitarians? Three branches of christianity that are supporting the opposition. What about their right to practice THEIR religion, because they are totally psyched to marry some gay people. (it's not all christians...I know that...Please know that I know that)
And for the churches scared of losing tax exempt status should they refuse to marry a gay couple? THEY BETTER BE FUCKING SCARED because they're using religion money to control prop 8 for too long. This is untaxed money people. FOR A POLITICAL CAUSE. No on Prop 8 donations aren't tax deductible by the way. (can someone cite this?)
Bottom line is you can't vote a world that doesn't exist into existence. Maybe it would be better if natural diversity didn't occur in biological species. The minority groups that result of such diversity are often picked on. No one chooses to be gay and be subjected to different rights and laws because of this. (homosexuality is observed in all mammalian species btw...I'm guessing because we're so good at keeping our species alive that if 10% don't breed it's not the end of the world) Maybe it would be better if there were no gay people. I can't say for sure because such a world doesn't exist. Maybe it would be better if teen girls didn't get pregnant. Again, it's a non-issue because such a world doesn't exist.
So because we can't vote the gays off the island, let's just pretend they're human and give them the same rights? huh? what do you say?
I hope no one actually read this. It was a theraputic vent mostly.
