Best day EVAR

I want to make sure I got everything done yesterday I needed to so let's just go down the list:

1. Cried and felt shitty about the ongoing process of breaking up with my boyfriend of three years

completed

2. Stress about having not yet found a place to move

completed

3. Witness a pig get sicker than I've ever seen an animal get before as a result of an experiment.  The sight of said animal was enough to make two grown men cry.

completed

4. Go outside to talk to one of the crying men and beg him to not quit because my boss wouldn't talk to him as he has a strict "grow a pair" policy with employees

completed

5. Get caught in the middle of a brutal argument between my boss and the post doc who went against veterinary advice and did NOT euthanize the pig

completed

6. Catch a big mistake on a research protocol written in 2005 when I didn't even work here to have the CHIEF OF MOTHERFUCKING SURGERY come storming into my office and SCREAM at my in my face for about 15 minutes without stopping blaming me for the mistake.

completed

7. Cry in the bathroom for a while after the most powerful doctor at the hospital had finished yelling at me calling me stupid (true story)

completed

8. Go dumpster diving to retrieve 2 canisters of green bile/rumen contents that were pumped out of a sheep during surgery for my CRAZY boss

completed

9. Go through sheep stomach contents over the sink while dry heaving in my own mask looking for "anything unusual" (note: everything that comes out of a rumen looks pretty unusual to me)

completed

10. Sit through a presentation by a rep from a company that does bar coding systems we want to implement on our animal cages for billing and tracking only to find out its 200 thousand dollars more than we can afford

completed

I've decided to move to Alaska to hunt vampires.  It sounds less stressful.

This weekend will be fun. It will be fun because it has to be.  I'm going to come up with something creative and quirky that can act in the place of business cards for this blog.  Holly from Decor8 has asked her readership to send in any unwanted fabric, paper, ephemera, etc to make fun packets to send to readers with a creative side.  I have so much to donate especially now that I'm cleaning out my life and moving out of my apartment.  She wants the donors to include business cards for this etsy shops or blogs or businesses so the winners of the packets know where the stuff came from.  I don't have a business so I just have this blog to advertise and I'm not about to buy business cards for this dumbass blog.  I have some ideas...

I'll also be participating in a care package swap hosted by I suwannee and you know I'll go to the maxx with it.  Go and participate!

happy weekending and all

Yeesh. Rough day. I can't believe you're still upright and blogging. You are way tougher than I could ever be- if I get flipped off on the street, I tend to crawl into a bottle of Jack and a Jay-Z playlist on my iPod. I highly recommend both this weekend while you're living well (the best revenge).

Oh girl, you had a DAY. I have no idea what a rumen is, but just hearing about it made me throw up in my throat. I hope the weekend is restorative - sounds like you need a nice break.

You had me at rumen! :)

Wow I thought my day was bad. Only one person called ME stupid. Phew! You made me feel better. A virtual beer for you.

I rarely get foul mouthed. Lost the habit when I had kids....but SHIT! It sounds like you need a new job. I have no doubt you will find a fabulous new place and make it beautiful just like the one you have now. And it will be a comfort to come home to. But can't you get a different job?! I hope there is an upside to this craziness (your job) that makes it worthwhile. These people sound horrid. I wish I was in your neck of the woods so I could buy you a good stiff drink....and a blankey. Everyone could use one of those every now and then.

you make me laugh. Hmmm, that came out wrong. I mean you are funny, but NOT this post. I am very very sorry to hear about your crappy day.

your job sounds gruesome! wow. but at least it gave you great writing material, right?

(love your blog by the way!)

Leslie,
You are going to have the last laugh as the door hits your ass on your last day at this job. With your having given the appropriate 24 hours notice of course! You deserve more and they deserve less. I wish you had a car so you could take a drive to the coast. The fresh air would do you good as well as a good crawl through some vintage stores! Hang in there!

Sweet Jesus that sounds like a mother of a day. Is the weekend going any better? Good for you to jump in on the much more positive Decor8 swap thingie. Hoping the weekend is muuuch better.

Good lord what a crap ass day! For you and that poor pig. I'm hoping you're out having a balls to the wall weekend, happy, footloose and fancy free. If not that, then at least nose-deep in a bowl of the best ice cream the city has to offer.

Gosh, I want to say get out of there. This is not the place for you. But then I know you love pigs and what chance would the pig have without you? But then if you cannot affect anything there, it's a nightmare. I feel for you. This is not right. You need some help.
